Busted for Drug Possession in Auburn

Adam Zuchelli, 32, of Mayfield Hts. was charged with possession of a controlled substance, a fourth-degree felony, after being stopped for speeding on U.S. Route 422 in Auburn Township on March 27.

While the Geauga County?sheriff’s deputy was speaking with Zuchelli, he reportedly could smell a strong odor of marijuana in the vehicle. K-9 Rotor alerted officers of a controlled substance in the vehicle.

During a search of the vehicle, deputies allegedly located several items used in the cultivation of marijuana and approximately 500 grams of marijuana (estimated street value of $1,300) as well as prescription pills.

The case will be sent to a Geauga County Grand Jury.

Chardon Municipal Court set Zuchelli’s bond at $5,000, which was posted on March 28.

Farm Bureau, Auditor Host CAUV Meeting

The Geauga County Farm Bureau and county Auditor Frank Gliha are co-hosting a meeting on taxation of farm real estate.

The Current Agriculture Use Valuation meeting will take place at 6:30 p.m. April 17 at the Patterson Center, in Burton. It will feature Leah Curtis, director of agriculture law at the Ohio Farm Bureau Federation.
