Buying in Geauga to cook in Ashtabula
Two men and two women were arrested last week, accused of purchasing chemicals in Geauga County to be used to make methamphetamine in Ashtabula County, the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office said.
Thomas N. and Karol Beech, Helen R. Spicer and Keith L. Christian appeared in Chardon Municipal Court, charged with illegal assembly of chemicals for the manufacture of drugs, a third-degree felony. Bond was set at $50,000 cash or surety.
The four were purchasing pseudoephedrine, the sheriff’s office said.
Spicer and Karol Beech were in possession of meth and other drug-abuse instruments when they were arrested, the sheriff’s office said.
Christian was arrested at his residence April 22 in Middlefield Township.
During the course of Christian’s arrest, detectives seized 138 marijuana plants which were growing in his apartment.
