The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Feb. 14-20. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 321 calls during this seven-day period.
9:07 a.m., Lakeview Lane, Troy. Caller’s son’s dirt bike was stolen last year. Caller looked on Craigslist and found what appeared to be a complete match. Caller told guy who answered number that he would be there around 10 a.m. to look at it. Caller asking GCSO meet near location so he can verify the serial number. Caller notified police not needed after he responded to seller’s location and examined motorcycle. Confirmed it is son’s stolen dirt bike. Seller gave up bike without incident.
10 p.m., Ledge Road, Thompson. Husband and wife broken windows and marks on both parties. Alcohol, both have been drinking. No drugs, no weapons involved. Scuffle between the two and female was pushed down when coming toward the male. Female had left and now is back at home. Female has thrown things through the window and at cars. Both parties arrested; paperwork filed.
4:15 p.m., Queens Way, Auburn. Fraud, over $16,000. Report.
5:19 p.m., Crimson King Trail, Hambden. Caller received two letters recently in the mail being denied for credit applications; caller spoke with the company which advised someone used caller’s identity to apply for credit. She learned whoever was fraudulently applying, using her name, was in Las Vegas. She is not at a loss of property or money, and has put a credit alert on her information. Advice given.
7:33 p.m., Merritt Road, Munson. In the lobby to speak to an officer about harassing text messages received from a teenage girl that resides in Chardon. Girl sent caller’s daughter a text message today claiming to be a deputy with GCSO. Caller would like to file a report and indicates this is an ongoing problem with this girl harassing her daughter. Spoke with father of suspected text sender. He stated he has spoken to his daughter and text messages should stop. Advice given.
10:58 p.m., Venus Drive, Hambden. Fifteen-year-old male is refusing to take garbage out as his mother requested. No violence; no alcohol or drugs. Caller has had problems with the child in the past and was instructed to call back for unruly charges. She wants him out of the house. Deputy assigned. One juvenile male transported to PGJDC per Judge Grendell. Report taken.
7:21 a.m., Main Market Road, Parkman. Two males advised they stay here and names do not match address. Arrested male for drug paraphernalia. Male also had outstanding Maple Heights PD warrant. Male works at Great Lakes Cheese as a press operator. Admitted “casual drug user,” presently on probation for child support-related matters out of Trumbull County.
11:20 p.m., Valley Road, Auburn. Snowmobiles on the ice at LaDue. Akron Watershed ranger is at the parking lot and advised they are not allowed to be on there. Snowmobiles were last seen on the Ravenna Road area of LaDue. Unknown where they went.
