The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Nov. 28 through Dec. 4. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 311 calls during this seven-day period.

ANIMAL PROBLEM

Nov. 30

2:36 p.m., Wilson Mills Road, Munson. Racoon on side house by back door worries resident. The racoon tried to attack the family dog. Deputy responded to location. Homeowner advised racoon “just showed up.” Racoon does not look sick and it’s in an unsafe location. Advised homeowner to see if it goes by night fall. Homeowner advised he will keep an eye on it and his dog, in hopes it goes back to the woods tonight.

Dec. 1

7:27 a.m., Old Rider Road, Burton. Two pitbulls running loose attacked caller’s cats. The dogs ran south on Rider Road. This is not the first time they have ran loose in a pack of three. Dark brown and rust color brown. Deputy spoke with complainant who stated she was taking care of a feral cat, and three pitbull looking dogs attacked the cat in her yard. Complainant chased the dogs away and the cat is hiding somewhere in the garage with unknown injuries. The dogs took off south on Old Rider Road. Deputy checked the area and was unable to locate the three dogs. Complainant would like a follow up from the dog warden.

DISORDERLY

Dec. 4

12:22 p.m., Burrows Road, Montville. Room 219, an unruly student bit and spit on several teachers. Student is 10 years old. Deputy advised. No one needs medical attention at this point. Teeth marks are not through the skin. Student is in the room alone at this time and laying down in the dark on the bean bags calm at this point. Student is bi-polar. Classroom is on the second floor. The student is crying now. She is still calm in the dark classroom. The school called the student’s mother and she is on her way to the school. Fire department handled the medical issue.

SUSPICIOUS

Nov. 29

10:22 a.m., Sherman Road, Munson. Footprints from a field behind our residence tracks up to the windows and back into the field. Deputy advised. The foot steps were tracked to a house near the woods. The

12-year-old kids admitted they were having a birthday party last night and their one friend decided to look into the window and then retreated back to the field. The homeonwer was notified and was not upset.

Dec. 3

6:28 p.m., Cherry Hollow Drive, Chardon. Caller states she just arrived home, saw her upstairs lights on. Caller does not remember leaving the lights on. Caller is in her vehicle with her mother and driving through the development. No cars seen in the area. No movement in the house. Deputy advised.

Dec. 4

11:11 p.m., Beechwood Drive, Newbury. Caller heard someone or something “slam” into the west side of her house. She is home alone and locked herself in the bedroom. There is a gun in the house but she is not sure where. She has not heard anything since. Deputy checked the exterior of the house and found no signs of criminal activity. Unknown cause of the sound.

THEFT

Dec. 1

6:23 a.m., Lake Shore Drive, Newbury. Vehicle broken into over night and an iPod charger was taken. No forced entry. Second time in a year this has happened. Deputy spoke with the complainant who states sometime in the overnight hours between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m., an unknown person entered their unlocked motor vehicle and stole an iPhone charger. Complainant only wishes extra patrol in the area. Also advised to make sure their vehicle is locked.

THREATENING

Nov. 28

11:43 p.m., Burton Windsor Road, Burton. A female has threatened to kill the caller with a knife and burn the house down. She is upstairs now and isn’t causing any other problems. Caller believes she has a warrant out of Warren. Female got mad because he wouldn’t take her to Warren to buy drugs. She has needles in the front of her pants and she has a crack pipe on her. He thinks that if she had any drugs on her that she has already used it. Female is still upstairs and he thinks she might be sleeping now. Warren City was checked for warrants and she doesn’t have any active warrants.

Dec. 2

10:07 a.m., Stafford Road, Auburn. Premier garbage truck driver kept pulling into middle of the roadway and slamming on his brakes not allowing complainant to pass. Once she did pass him, he chased her in the garbage truck to her friend’s house where she picks up another child then takes them to school. The garbage truck driver got out of his truck and ran up the driveway towards her and only turned around when she screamed she was calling the police. However when she left the residence, he chased her again in the garbage truck. Complainant advised she was afraid to go home.

VANDALISM

Nov. 29

8:06 a.m., Old State Road, Hambden. A boy has been stalking my daughter and this morning all our vehicles are covered in mustard and ketchup. Report taken.
