The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office April 4-10. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 352 calls during this seven-day period.
4:48 p.m., Washington Street, Auburn. Caller states he was cut off by a male, who then got out of his vehicle and started yelling and swinging at the caller. He ripped the caller’s shirt and took his phone. Caller now has his phone back. He says he is not injured. Caller states the parties are separated, waiting in their vehicles. They are not arguing at this time. Employee of Excaliber reporting an altercation between subject in a black Escape and one of his co-workers. No weapons involved. Reported they were swinging at each other. One party is still waiting in the roadway in a black Ford and will call back if anything escalates. Neither party wished to pursue charges. Both admitted to being partially at fault for the altercation. Both parties provided advice about how to handle these situations in the future. Cleared without enforcement action.
1:55 p.m., Auburn Road, Chardon. Caller stated they were called for an estimation of a job. He was never awarded the job and now he is threatening us. Dispatch responded to the location. Spoke to both parties involved and learned the incident is related to past business. Both parties were advised to stop talking to each other; both partied agreed. No threats of physical violence occurred. Advice given.
2:58 p.m., Nauvoo Road, Middlefield. Fire at the fabricating shop with flames from the roof. The building is not close to any other structures and all occupants have evacuated. FD had situation under control. No immediate need for deputy assistance. Command terminated building. Turned over to owner.
12:03 p.m., Vrooman Road, Leroy. Blue Chevy Silverado reported to have a female in the vehicle with a sign that said “help me.” Unknown direction of travel. Lake County made contact with occupants of car; it was a prank.
12:23 a.m., Burrows Road, Montville. There are people fighting and the caller’s son said it looked pretty bad. Caller’s son said they were fighting directly across the street from their driveway. Caller’s son told his mom to not call the police because it was his friends. Prank between high school kids. Parents will handle between themselves.
4:57 p.m., Auburn Road, Munson. Meet school principal at NDCL Elemen-tary, main office doors. Staff continues to receive calls from a male requesting information on a partic-ular student. He wants to know if the child attends the school. School policy dictates this information cannot be released, but he continues to call. Advice given. School won’t give out info without subpoena and/or court order. Principal is afraid the male will come to the school. She was advised to call the sheriff’s office if he shows up and causes a problem. No criminal activity has take place as of yet.
4:36 p.m., Rock Creek Road, Hambden. Large shed taken off the property. Caller bought this property on Feb. 24. Caller was out of town and found out an auction is scheduled at the property that should not be. Deputy spke to previous owner of the property, who was also on scene. She stated the property was transfered on Feb. 25. She stated she was given 45 days to remove her property, after the transfer, and during that time removed a shed that was next to the very large garage. She stated she also scheduled an auction to help get rid of the property. Owner stated the shed was removed from the property, the northeast corner of the large garage was also damaged. The owner also stated that he was forbidding the auction to occur. He requested the incident be documented and he will follow up with his attorney.
8:03 a.m., Mayfield Road, Claridon. Caller reported their 2002 white Ford F250 stolen. It was paid for. Last seen April 8. I called my family and no one borrowed it. Report taken.
8:27 p.m., Main Market Road, Parkman. Brown four-door car in the parking lot of Dollar General. Caller walked past male in vehicle twice and noticed he was drinking. Deputy responded. Male was drinking orange pop. No odor of alcoholic beverage noted. No cause for alarm. Male is on his cell phone which is why he was sitting here.
3:13 p.p., Chardon Road, Chardon. Female in white van in driveway. She was banging on door. She is in a full sized van. Caller is scared this female will be there when her daughter gets off the school bus. White female, skinny, with long dark hair. She appears to be in her early 40s. Female was trying to get the caller to let her in the house. Complainant has never seen this woman before in her life. She has no idea who she is or what she is there for. Suspect broke out a window in the house, most likely with a rock. She then got back in her vehicle and left the area toward Chardon. Report taken. One female arrested.
