The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office May 9 through May 15. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 347 calls during this seven-day period.

CITIZEN’S DISPUTE

May 10

1:43 p.m., Daniel Lane, Hambden Township. A caller reported their neighbor breaking the rules and running a chain saw. He cussed. Deputy spoke with complainant on the phone who advised neighbor was creating a loud noise with a saw. Neighbor stated he had permission from the park manager to cut trees on his property. Complainant also advised neighbor told her to “screw off.” Neighbor stated he did say this after complainant began yelling at him and ordering him to stop cutting. No independent witnesses heard argument between parties. Deputy advised complainant to contact park manager to address park rules and regulations.

May 10

7:04 p.m., Chardon Windsor Road, Huntsburg Township. Caller is dismantling his house and a subject in a white passenger van continues to harass him from the road. Male is taking pictures, yelling at him and claiming to be from zoning. Deputy advised. Spoke with the owner of the van, who is a member of zoning for Huntsburg Township. He was taking photos of the illegal burning. Also spoke with the homeowner and advised him he was not allowed to be burning in the township. Advised dispatch to send out the Fire Dept.

DISORDERLY

May 11

2:36 a.m., Kinsman Road, Newbury Township. Fights going on here with about 20 intoxicated people. We are trying to get it all broken up and out of the bar. Need sheriff units to come assist. See report.

JUVENILE PROBLEM

May 14

3:29 p.m., Kile Road, Montville Township. Female teenager chasing a male teenager with a hammer. Bus driver could only provide information that it was at a blue house on Kile road. Deputy responded. Brother and sister “just being stupid” chasing each other around. Mother home to speak with children.

SUSPICIOUS

May 12

4:00 p.m., Auburn Road, Munson Township. Caller states they went into the woods and brought back bones. Caller states they resemble human bones. Caller’s wife is home. Bones were brought in for Dr. Coleman to inspect.

THEFT

May 15

1:43 p.m., Pekin?Road, Newbury Township. Complainant found his stolen grinder at the pawn shop. Grinder was stolen possibly in April because it was turned into the pawn shop then. Complainant is now saying several tools are missing, along with portban, boxes of nails and a credit card. See incident report.

TRAFFIC OFFENSE

May 11

2:52 p.m., Tilden Road, Troy Township. Caller says that a green crotch rocket has been racing up and down the road at a high rate of speed. He may have stopped at this time. Deputy spoke with possible rider who stated his bike doesn’t have a muffler so it annoys persons in the neighborhood. Bike was parked upon speaking with rider. No violations observed.
