Russell Dennis King Sr.
Born Dec. 20, 1965, in Muskegon, Mich., Mr. King had been a resident of Aquilla Village for the past 43 years.
He was a self-employed flooring installer for 29 years, with his specialty in carpet.
Rusty attended Chardon High School. He loved spending time with his family fishing, hunting, camping and canoeing. He belonged to the horseshoe club in Middlefield.
Rusty enjoyed taking his son, Russell, and his friends on “youth hunts” down in southern Ohio.
He was known for his “Rusty Ribs” and all the good times under his oak tree in the backyard — good times with good people. Rusty loved to help others any way he could.
Survivors are his wife, Jeannie (nee Jaite); daughter, Crystal (fiancé Jeff Morrison) King; mother, Shirley (nee Frazier) King, of Michigan; brothers, Randall (Theresa) Huston, Craig (Lori) King and Kris (Veronica) King; sister Brenda (Dale) Wiley; in-laws, Charles (Gail) Jaite, Christine (Timothy) Fuller, Bob (Eva) Jaite, Gretchen and Dale Wedge, and Mary (David) Pusey; brother-in-law, Curtis Jaite; sister-in-law, Evonne Jaite; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Rusty was preceded in death by his son, Russell D. King Jr.; father, Dennis King; sister Cindy Phillips; father-in-law Raymond Jaite; mother-in-law Josephine (nee Regina) Jaite Goodwin; nephew Brian Wiley; and niece Brandy King.
Calling hours are March 4, from 2-7 p.m., at DeJohn Funeral Home and Crematory of Chardon (formerly Ritondaro), 126 South St., Chardon.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. March 5 at Chardon United Methodist Church, 515 North St., Chardon.
Cremation by DeJohn Crematory will follow the services.
