Geraldine S. Adams
Geraldine S. (nee Sorenson) Adams, of Montville Township, died Nov. 14, 2013, at University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center, with her sons, daughter, two grandchildren and husband all by her side. She was 81.
Born July 7, 1932, in Elsinore, Utah, to Max L. and Bertha (nee Torgenson) Sorenson, she had been a longtime area resident.
Gerre was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, during which time she had many callings. Her current and favorite was staff genealogist at the Kirtland Family History Center, a position she held for more than 25 years.
Gerre loved helping others trace their family history as well as continuing to trace her family. She was able to trace as far back as the year 500a.d.
Her greatest love was for her family.
Gerre enjoyed flea marketing, worked along with her husband at the Phillip W. Adams Insurance Agency and also worked for the U.S. Post Office.
She was a member of the AMVets Auxiliary Post 1968 in Montville.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Phillip Adams, of Montville; daughter, Victoria “Tori” (Donald) Hartman, of E. Claridon; former daughter-in-law, Kathy Adams, of South Carolina; sons, Kirk (Debbie Roy), of E. Claridon, and Chad (Terrie), of Roaming Shores; and grandchildren, Brandy, Kailey and Max Adams, Megan Hartman and Kelsey Adams.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and children Valerie, Rex and Keith Adams.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19 at the Chardon Branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of LDS, 12455 Merritt Road, Munson Township, with burial to follow at E. Claridon Cemetery.
Visitation is 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Nov. 18 at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon.
