James W. Ronyak
Born Jan. 9, 1937, at Corey Hospital in Chardon to AJ and Effie (nee Craft) Ronyak, he had been a lifelong area resident.
He spent his early years in Troy Township, learning to hunt and fish with his twin brother Bill.
James graduated from Burton High School, before attending Case University and The Ohio State University.
His father founded AJ Ronyak Asphalt Paving, in Burton, in 1939. James continued in the business with Bill and older brother Dennis until his retirement in 1995.
Jim was a member of Burton Congregational Church, Village Lodge F&AM #274 and the Al Koran Shrine in Cleveland.
He enjoyed flying and golf, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family.
He was passionate about his work, his employees and running the business.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Sharon (nee Rowland), of Burton; daughter, Sherry (Keith) Monroe, of Burton; sons, David (Jennifer), of Munson Township, Scott (Jill), of Burton, and Craig, of Burton; 12 grandchildren, Jason, Jessica, Jerrod, Ashley, Tommy, Alyssa, Evan, Ian, Mia, Katie, Ashley and Johnny; and many extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Dennis and William; and nephew Jay B. Ronyak.
A casual gathering with friends and family will be held Sunday, April 6 from 3-6 p.m. at the church beside the Welshfield Inn, 13975 Main Market Road, Troy.
Private family burial will be at Slitor Cemetery in Burton.
