Joseph David Gray

Joseph David Gray, age 85 of Middlefield, died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, at his residence.

He was born on June 16, 1928, in Lawrenceville, Ill., son of Otis and Marie (nee Hall) Gray.

After he graduated from Bridgeport High School in Illinois in 1946, Joe served in the U.S. Air Force from 1949-1953 during the Korean War.

Joe was a truck driver for C.R. England in Salt Lake City, Utah, for 15 years and retired in 1998.

He lived in Middlefield since 1970. He loved golfing and woodworking, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

He will be missed by his friends and family, including his better half, Linda Hershberger; four sons; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother George Gray, of Montana; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha; brother Bill Gray; and sister, Lillian “Ike” Esch.

A Celebration of Life will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 31 at Russell Funeral Service, 15670 West High St., Middlefield.

Visitation will be Wednesday, 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Slitor Cemetery, Burton Township.
