Karen Irene Grasser

Grasser, KarenCHARDON TWP. – Karen Irene Grasser, of Chardon Township, died March 7, 2014, at home, surrounded by her family. She was 71.

Karen was born in Cleveland, on Sept. 17, 1942. She is a graduate of John Marshall High School, Class of 1960.

Karen married her high school sweetheart, Bruce H. Grasser, on Dec. 29, 1961, at Christ Methodist Church in Cleveland.

Karen worked as the front office manager for Dr. James J. Caine, DDS, in Chardon, for 25 years.

Her hobbies included walking, golfing, shopping, cooking and baking. She took a special interest in her grandchildren’s lives.

Karen enjoyed vacationing in the Adirondacks, for the past 44 years, and also in Ft. Myers Beach, at the Waterside.

Karen is survived by her husband, Bruce; son, Charles Grasser, of Wickliffe; twin daughters, Susan (James) Aveni, of Concord Township, and Shelly Tommasone, of Mentor; and grandchildren, Joseph, Jillian and Michael Aveni, and Callen and Nicholas Tommasone.

Her parents, Raymond I. and Rita E. (nee Harlach) Tatousek, preceded her in death.

The family receive friends March 10, from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m., at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon.

A memorial service will be held at Chardon United Methodist Church on March 11, at 11 a.m.
