Kaye Willman Lyon
She was born in Chardon on Sept. 11, 1927, at the former Pease Hospital on Tilden Avenue, to Roy K. and Belle (nee Galbraith) Willman.
Kaye graduated from Chardon High School, Class of 1945.
Kaye Willman married Harve F. “Skeet” Lyon on April 28, 1964.
As a youth, Kaye worked in the Chardon Movie Theater on Chardon Square and later at Kroger’s Grocery store on Main Street and the Chardon A&P.
Kaye then began her career in the law enforcement, working for the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office and then the Painesville Police Department, retiring after 34 years.
Kaye supported friendships and family, and was known to her children’s friends as “Ma.” She enjoyed travelling, visiting 44 states, and also fishing, especially the many trips to Canada.
Survivors include her husband, Harve F. Lyon; Beth (Jay) Brindo, Becky Feigle (Mark Haas) and Bonnie (Bill) Clemson, all of Chardon, and son, Kurt (Lisa) Feigle, of Chester Township; grandchildren, Sally Brindo Finger, Jay Jr., Micah, and Krista Brindo, K. Paul and Courtney B. Feigle, Jessie and Abraham Haas, Brianne Clemson Fawcett and William L. Clemson; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Kaye was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Alene Bythway; brother, Paul G. Willman; and nephew Robert Bythway.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Aug. 4 at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon.
Visitation is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 4 at the funeral home.
