HAMBDEN TWP. – Louis “Jack” Barna, of Hambden Township, entered eternal rest peacefully Thursday evening, June 5, 2014, at University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center. He was 73.
He was born in Cleveland, on Jan. 30, 1941, to the late Louis A. and Marjorie (nee Bowers) Barna.
He is now reunited with his loving wife of 32 years, Joan (nee Smith) Barna, who passed away in 2009.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and a retired sprinter.
Jack spent the last 14 years as an Amish taxi driver.
He enjoyed traveling, taking pictures, studying different gems and rocks, and spending time with his family.
Jack was an active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and served as a past district officer and past district secretary.
Jack will be dearly missed by his children, Mark (Michele) Werner and Holly (Christopher) Falcone; siblings, Marilyn (Robert) Fiorille and Laine S. (Mark) Seasock; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joan; and brother Russell J. Barna.
A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. June 10 at Hambden Cemetery, 9891 Old State Road, with Pastor Rod Edwards officiating.
