Michael E. Martin

HAMBDEN TWP. – Michael E. Martin, of Hambden Township, died June 21, 2014, at University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center in Claridon Township. He was 68.

Born Nov. 9, 1945, in Berea, he lived in the Chardon area since 1978.

Mike was very active in the Oldsmobile Car Club. He enjoyed country line dancing and was an avid history buff.

He also was passionate about World War II and competitive shooting.

Mike proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and is a member of the American Legion Post 167, Chardon.

He was the operations manager for the former Picker International, Highland Heights, for many years.

Survivors include his sons, Kyle (Jessica) Martin, of Concord Township, and Mitchell Martin, of Lakewood; brother, Dean Martin, of Chico, Calif.; and significant other, Virginia “Stretch” Plush, of Chardon Township.

His parents, Edward R. and Marjorie (nee Walczak) Martin are deceased.

The family will host a gathering for friends at a later date to be announced.

Burr Funeral Home, Chardon, is handling the arrangements.
