Michael Mikita

BURTON – Michael Mikita, of Burton, died Nov. 5, 2014, at University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center. He was 86.

He was born on Sept. 28, 1928, in Cleveland, son on Andrew and Mary (nee Fedor) Mikita.

Michael was a U.S. Air Force veteran who served in the Korean War.

Married to Eleanor Gregg, they were residents of this area since 1970.

He was an installer and trouble-shooter for Ohio Bell.

A member of St. Andrew Eastern Orthodox Church in Maple Heights, he also volunteered at the church to help make Pirohi for their sales.

He will be missed by friends and family, including his nephew, Steven (Chris) Mikita, of Richmond; niece, Susan (James) Moss, of Burton; and great-nieces and nephews, Kevin, Kyle, Carter and Callie Mikita, and Angela and Alison Moss.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor; parents; brother, Andrew Mikita; and sister-in-law, Shirley Lancaster Mikita.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Nov. 11 at St. Andrew Eastern Orthodox Church, 16029 Maple Park Drive, Maple Heights.

Visitation is Nov. 10, from 5-8 p.m., with a Parastis Service at 7:30 p.m. at Russell Funeral Service, 15670 West High St., Middlefield.

Burial will be at Highland Park Cemetery in Warrensville Heights.
