Peter Paul Lopaska Jr.
MIDDLEFIELD – Peter Paul Lopaska Jr., of Middlefield, died June 23, 2014, at Heather Hill Care Communities in Munson Township. He was 69.
Born June 23, 1945, in Cleveland, to Peter P. and Evelyn (nee O’Kinis) Lopaska Sr., he lived in Middlefield since 2005. He previously lived in New Port Richey, Fla., from 1990 to 2005.
Peter was the credit manager for General Signal and Seal Coat in Berea.
He had attended the Glastonbury Abby in Hingham, Mass., until he met his wife.
Peter was an active member of St. Lucy Catholic Church in Middlefield and, anywhere he lived, became an avid supporter of the parish.
He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Peter is survived by his son, Michael (Angela) Lopaska, of Burton; grandchildren, Andrew, Christina, William Matthews and Gabriel Lopaska; sister, Jacqueline Pangborn, of Detroit; and many nieces and nephews.
He also sponsored his exchange student, Phillip Ley, in 1993, with whom he has remained very close.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Kathleen (nee Dragolich) Lopaska, on March 7, 2014; and his parents.
The family will receive friends from 5-7:30 p.m. June 26 at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon.
There will be a Knights of Columbus service at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. June 27 at St. Lucy Mission, 16280 Kinsman Road, Middlefield.
Private family burial will be held.
