AFS Scholarship Programs

Applications are now being accepted from motivated high school students who wish to study abroad, with full and partial scholarships available. These opportunities are available through AFS, a non-profit international exchange organization for students and adults that operates in more than 50 countries, and organizes and supports intercultural learning experiences.

The Kennedy Lugar Youth Exchange and Study (YES) Abroad has 65 full scholarships for a year abroad in one of 13 countries with significant Muslim populations. Application deadline for this program is Jan. 9.

The Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange (CBYX) has 50 full scholarships for a year abroad in Germany. Students apply through AFS with an application deadline of Jan. 9.

In addition to these full scholarships, AFS Global-Leaders need-based scholarship applications are accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis, as part of the core AFS application process. The Cultural Explorer Scholarship is a $3,000 merit-based scholarship for programs to China, Egypt, India, Turkey or Russia.
