Students Support The Troops

Students and staff had a wonderful and comfortable day at Burton Elementary School wearing pajamas to support U.S. troops.

Roots and Shoots, a school club that performs community service projects, organized a pajama day to support the Adopt-A-Platoon organization, and it was a huge success. Under the leadership of MaryJo Maxwell and Tanya Klingman, Roots and Shoots was able to raise $1,200 to prepare care packages to be sent overseas to the men and women in the military.

Thank you to Terri and Tim Berman for inviting the school to be a part of supporting Adopt-A-Platoon. The Berman’s goal was to raise $1,500 and Burton Elementary was able to help them reach their goal. Burton Elementary is so proud of its kids and community.

Thank you for everyone’s support.

Outstanding Students

The East Geauga Kiwanis Club recently gave recognition to Burton Elementary School third-graders Matthew Chapek, Tessa Smith, Emma Nemergut for being outstanding students as chosen by their teachers. They all received a certificate and four elementary fiction books from the club.
