December Huskie Pride Winners
Cardinal Local Schools is announcing their Huskie Pride Winners for the month of December. These Huskie Pups from Jordak Elementary School and Cardinal Intermediate School were caught “red-pawed” teaching, modeling and practicing appropriate behaviors through the schools’ Positive Behavior Interventions Support (PBIS). Using PBIS, the schools are helping students grow into productive, respectful, involved, determined, empathetic citizens.
Every month, students work on a new behavior word. The December PRIDE word was “respectful.” Students and the PRIDE team put together a video and song and created posters to demonstrate the appropriate and inappropriate ways of practicing respectful behavior.
“These elements were crucial in really getting the respectful behavior points across and really resonated with students. Huskie Pride is becoming an important achievement to our students and our schools,” says Kelly Bearer, principal of Jordak Elementary School.
All students were recognized at the Jan. 12 school board meeting.
Bus Pride: fourth-grader Cameron Palmer (Bus 26), kindergartner Evelyn Wriston (Bus 26), kindergartner Nijha McLeash (Bus 29), kindergartner Brayden Henrie (Bus 29), first-grader Braiden Lenz (Bus 29) and fourth-grader Travis Wriston (Bus 29).
Kindergarten: Alaina Hickox, Maria Burkholder, Emily Pleva, Karen Weaver, Jason Weaver, Karolyn Miller, Madison Stokes, Nova Young, Olivia Krebs, Amy Bender, Shawn Kumher, Jonah Miller, Caleb Hershberger and Makaylynn Carstens.
First Grade: It’saiah Mohnkern, Cindy Hochstetler, Eve Kaminski, Noah Zimmerman, Bryce Blystone, Jaleashia Reese, Felicity Little, Leah Gingerich, Riley Konkol, Mackenzie Wicks and Morgan Clark.
Second Grade: PJ Marcum, Cindy Lin, John Troyer, Sydney Portman, Sakena Wiley, Briana Lew, Ruth Lingler, Dylan Meadows, Amber Fulop, Danica Thirion and Haylie Rosenberger.
