Hambden Elementary Turns 90

Help us celebrate Hambden Elementary School’s 90th birthday on Oct. 23. The doors will be open at 6:30 p.m. to welcome former students and teachers, as well as current faculty, students and their families and friends.

The school has been collecting class pictures, memorabilia and other artifacts to display.

Parking will be at the school, township hall and the township park across the street.

If anyone has any Hambden Elementary memorabilia to add to the display, please drop it off in the school office.

Special thanks goes to the Chardon Schools Foundation for sponsoring this important event.

Trunk Or Treat

Hambden Congregational Church is sponsoring a fun and safe alternative to traditional trick or treating. On Oct. 18 from 7-9 p.m., the church is hosting a Trunk or Treat event. Costumes are encouraged, but not required, to participate.

The community is invited to go from trunk to trunk gathering treats. The church is located on Route 6 across from Hambden Elementary.

For more information, call Dorothy at 440-286-4655.

For people planning on trick or treating in Hambden, it will be from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Oct. 31.

Trustees hope that all of the Hambden trick-or-treaters have a great time both on Halloween and on Oct. 18 at Hambden Congregational Church.

Fire Dept. Clam/Steak Bake

Hambden Fire Department will hold its second and final clam and steak bake of the season on Oct. 19 from 7-8:30 p.m. Dinner includes a dozen clams or steak, half a chicken, two ears of corn, sweet potatoes, clam broth and beverages. Cost is $25.

Call 440-285-3329 for reservations.
