Local woodcarvers Jim Stadtlander and Diane Harto are sharing with Kenston’s Timmons Elementary School students a unique experience. Students are watching the transformation of an idea into a final art piece and the real-life creation of an art piece by local artists.

STEM Night

The community is invited to STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) Night, a family event on new date Feb. 12 at Kenston High School beginning at 6 p.m.

The evening will kick off with a keynote address by Mr. Sean Westcott, Nestle innovation and research and development manager. Grade appropriate and hands-on activities will be presented by a variety of local corporations and non-profits.

TES Lunch Bunch

Congratulations to Timmons Elementary School Students of the Month for November.

The following students honored with “self-control” awards were: kindergartners Anna Baker, Pierce Brown, Savannah Devlin, Yuma Keebler, Jayden Morris, Brody Smith and Laina Walicki. First-graders honored were Hannah Cooper, Dalton Eberhardt, Reese Gabram, Nicholas Gambatesa, Rowan Goglin, Roarke Healy, Nina Hudson and Sophia Thomas.

Second graders were Jack Beclay, Brandon Bell, Skyler Cieszykowski, Hayley Garber, Zoey Kost, Alex Palmer, Grace Skladany and Gabrielle Thomas. Third-graders were Ava Arslanian, Olivia Damiano, Cayla DiBernardo, Lauren Hunder, Jack Novak, Jack Skufca, Olivia Spilman and Lukas Tomsich.

Speech and Debate

Kenston High School’s Speech and Debate team continues to improve as they competed at the Solon Tournament.

Congratulations go to Emily Herbruck for a fifth place finish in Impromptu Speaking and Nick Vitello for also earning a sixth place ribbon in Impromptu Speaking.

Kindergarten 2014-2015

Parent Information Night will be held at 7 p.m. March 4 at Timmons Elementary School for children entering kindergarten in August. Registration packets must be picked up at this time. Children must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 30, 2014.
