Congratulations to Timmons Elementary School Students of the Month for March.
The following kindergartners honored with “positive attitude” awards were: Giulia Badalotti, Ethan Bennett, Morgan Cicek, Julia Derecskey, Sabrina Hayter, Alexis Kosiorek and Anna Belle Soltis. First-graders were Benjamin Fink, Olivia Healy, Joshua Koltas, Adriana Maldonado, Matthew Nelson, Tigist Rogers and Owen Snider.
Second-graders were William Belew, Maria Cowoski, Ava Marcoguiseppe, Thomas Pecoraro, Mia Samaniego, Hadleigh Schmittel and Benjamin Serafin. Third-graders were Nicholas Cleary, Anne Costello, Daniel Eibler, Benjamin Nelson, Parker Peterson, Victoria Taran, Katelyn Torres and Brigitte Trabbic.
KIS Students of the Month
Kenston Intermediate School is pleased to announce their Students of the Month for March.
Students selected for Student of the Month “music” honors were fourth-graders Cooper Akers, Sam Gulas, Jaclyn Hummer, Nick Korenowski, Logan McQuerry, Mikayla Meyer, Nathan Snyder, Mauria Stanley and Amelia Vison; and fifth-graders Zachary Conover, James Doran, Emily Evans, Abigail Hayter, Sarah Jaroch, John McClure, Grace Roberts, Will Skaldany, Jason Spehar and Paul Stayner.
Congratulations to the students who earned All Academic honors for 2013-14 winter sports. To be selected for this award students must have a cumulative average after seven semesters of 3.25 GPA or better and have lettered in their sport for two years.
Basketball student athletes were Taylor Bacon, Marion-Margaret Brosko, Katie Coverdale, Kristina Meyer, Allie Molnar, Annie Randall, Peter Rozman and Brad Weemhoff. Gymnast Brittany Allard was honored.
Ice hockey student athlete Daniel Isakoff earned All Academic honors. Cheerleaders Emily Jenkins, Michele Marein and Chloe Mikus were honored with All Academic awards.
Swimming and dive team members honored with All Academic awards were Charles Manocchio, Sarah Newcomb, Anna Huff and Madeline Sand. Wrestler Duncan Bauer earned All Academic honors.
Secondary Art Show
Kenston High School students had their work displayed in The Lake and Geauga Secondary Art Show, which took place in the main gallery at Lakeland Community College.
Earning top honors at the show were: Andrew Most and John Kluchar, $500 Lakeland Community College Talent Grants; Nicholas Capelli, $300 Lakeland Community College Talent Grant; Alec Cheravitch and Ian Whitelock, $200 Lakeland Community College Talent Grant; Garrett Rosinski, Best in Show (Grades 10-12); John Kluchar, Best of Geauga County; Nick Cappelli, Best of Grade 12; Andy Most, Best of Grade 11; and Alec Cheravitch, John Kluchar and Andrew Most, Judges Choice Awards.
Guys & Dolls
Kenston Center Stage is pleased to present the classic 1950s Broadway musical “Guys & Dolls” on April 4 and 5 at 7 p.m. and April 6 at 2 p.m. in the Kenston High School auditorium. Ninety-two students are involved in the production, which features the hit songs “Luck Be A Lady Tonight” and “Sit Down You’re Rockin’ the Boat.”
All tickets are reserved and cost $12 for floor and mezzanine and $8 for balcony seats. Tickets are available on the high school website and box office.
If one’s child will be 5 years old on or before Sept. 30, be sure to register for the 2014-15 kindergarten year at the Early Learning Center.

The Kenston High School literary magazine, “Janus,” was honored with a rank of “Excellent” in the 2013 National College of Teachers of English Program to Recognize Excellence in Student Literary Magazines. More than 370 schools entered the 2013 program and only 12 schools from Ohio received recognition.
Student editors of the 2013 edition were Claire Abourjeily, Lindsay Cook, Bob Craig, Halle D’Amico, Cara Fagerholm, Patrick Giebner, Brigitte Kolibab, Maggie Lowman, Cameron Lynch, Andrew Most and Bridget Wilberg. Mr. Tony Marchesi was the faculty advisor.
