Science And Engineering Fair

Congratulations to the following St. Helen students in making this year’s science fair an outstanding success at the Northeastern Ohio Science and Engineering Fair at Cleveland State University: Mason Mulacek – first place in botany; Maggie Murray – second place in health; Hannah Taylor – second place in behavioral science; Gabe Williford, Chris Carter and Alex Mulacek – second place in physics; It’sabella Harton – third place in biology; Ashley Rulison – third place in health and medicine; and Sidney McInnerney and Brad Fram – honorable mention.

During the four day event, approximately 600 students from over 80 schools in the area set up their science fair displays, discussed their projects with more than 260 judges, scientists and engineers from the local area and competed for more than $20,000 in prizes.

Nominees to 2015 Broadcom Math, Applied Science, Technology and Engineering Rising Stars (MASTERS) are Mason Mulacek, Gabe Williford, Chris Carter and Alex Mulacek

Pi Day

On March 14, St. Helen students in Mr. Gannon’s seventh-grade math class celebrated Pi Day (3.14.15) by completing various math activities including formulating different equations to solve circumference and area of circles, measuring the circumference of pies, creating Pi shirts and eating pies.
