“The Wonderful and Somewhat Strange Tale of Sleeping Beauty”
The community is invited to Lindsey Elementary School’s production of “The Wonderful and Somewhat Strange Tale of Sleeping Beauty,” an upbeat version of the classic tale of Sleeping Beauty, on Nov. 22 at 6:30 p.m. and Nov. 23 at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. The cast features several of the second- through fifth-graders at the school.
Tickets are $7 each and available at the door. Children 4 and under are free.
R.C Lindsey Elementary is located at 11844 Caves Road in Chesterland.
Thanksgiving Pancake Breakfast
WEDGE, the West Geauga Educational Foundation, is serving breakfast at Chesterland McDonald’s, 8329 Mayfield Road, Chester Township, on Nov. 28 from 7:30-11:30 a.m.
Menu includes a breakfast of pancakes, sausage with juice, milk or coffee for $4. Dine in or take out is available.
The West Geauga Educational Foundation is a nonprofit organization that provides funds to enable new ways of teaching and learning at West Geauga Schools. Each year, the foundation trustees review applications from teachers, administrators, students and parents before deciding which programs to fund.

Kiwanis Club Honors Students
West Geauga Kiwanis Club honored the following students as West Geauga High School Students of the Month Jason Rains, Curt Williams and Henry Watson.
The September Student of the Month is Jason Rains. Some of his school activities are marching band (squad leader); cross country; track (captain); freshman mentor; National Honor Society; and ultimate frizbee.
Jason has volunteered at the Chesterfest picnic and the Kiwanis Pancake Breakfasts.
He is considering a career in Pharmacy.
The October Student of the Month is Curt Williams.
Some of his school activities are Student Council president; freshman mentoring; National Honor Society; Whirlwind; football; and track.
Curt’s community service includes Lake Academy; West Geauga Football Camp; Kiwanis Pancake Breakfasts; and Parkside Church Nursery.
Some of his awards are Science Fair engineering award; AP Scholar award; football 2012 first-team all county, second team All CVC; honorable mention all district; News Herald Player of the Week; Williams College Book Award; 4.0 Honor Roll.
Curt’s carreer choice is undecided.
The November Student of the Month is Henry Watson.
Some of his school activities include marching band; band council; symphonic band; jazz band; and National Honor Society (tutoring and mentoring).
Henry has participated in the junior and senior fair bands, and is a volunteer accompanist.
Some of his awards are honor roll; AP Scholar; Edwin J. Foster Memorial Award (band); 2014 National Merit Senior Finalist; and Harvard Book Award.
Henry is considering a career in Political Science
