The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Feb. 21-27. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 303 calls during this seven-day period.

Agency Assist

Feb. 21

10:07 a.m., Ravenwood Drive, Claridon. Drugs located in bathroom at Trans Living. Advice given. Evidence secured.


Feb. 23

2:18 a.m., Water Street, Chardon. Drunk and disorderly patrons fighting in the back. No weapons. Can’t control the crowd. Spoke with some of the customers and employees. All advised there was a verbal argument only and nothing physical. Employees advised they wanted help in regards to getting all of the customers to leave so they could leave.

Domestic Violence

Feb. 23

3:33 p.m., Auburn Road, Auburn. Intoxicated male is out of control. No weapons. Male pushed caller. Male was holding dog up and was threatening to throw dog off the porch. Male is aware police have been called. Male now throwing stuff around the room. He is upstairs. Male stating he is going to go all in when police arrive and will go to jail for a long time. He is packing his things. Verbal argument over dog waste in the yard. No violence. Advice given to both parties.

Domestic Dispute

Feb. 22

1:51 p.m., GAR Highway, Montville. Just witnessed a guy beating a blond girl pretty badly. Route 6 west of the Montville and Hambden border. Stopped a car and he was beating her pretty bad. Dark colored SUV. Caller did not want to leave his name. One arrested on a warrant from Colorado.


Feb. 24

4:20 p.m., Mayfield Road, Claridon. Caller received a phone call from a male representing Mega Globe Winners, stating he won $500,000 and a 2014 Mercedes Benz. In return for the prizes, he needed to send a $500 prepaid card to Mega Globe Winners. Caller realizes this call was a scam. He would like information logged in case there are more problems.

Feb. 26

7:01 p.m., Ascot Lane, Auburn. Fraud. $1,000 on credit card. Info taken.


Feb. 22

3:02 p.m., Auburn Road, Newbury. Received an anonymous call advising him that someone is taking money out of his safe. $20,000. Suspect a person. Deputy advised. Report taken.
