The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriffs Office Nov. 15-21. In total, the sheriffs office handled 326 calls during this seven-day period.
3:03 p.m., Chardon Windsor Road, Huntsburg. Horse in the pasture has its leg caught in a blanket and is in distress. Blanket removed off horse.
10:14 a.m., Old State Road, Claridon. Husky just killed two of the callers chickens. Unknown who dog belongs to. Neighbors have seen the dog but dont know who it belong to either. Dog warden notified. Checked the area UTL.
10:02 a.m., Bundysburg Road, Middlefield. Husbands office was robbed sometime during the hours of 9 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. The office was not locked, the safe was not secured; you just needed to turn the latch and it would open. $2000 was taken.
5:41 p.m., Ravenna Road, Claridon. Male is in ER. He had flown to Houston on Wednesday and came home on Saturday. He was assaulted and credit cards and drivers license stolen. His family is asking to speak with an officer. Contact number for Houston PD was given to father. Extra patrol requested for reported threats made by the suspects in Texas to the reported victim that harm may befall the family.
6:06 p.m., Hobart Road, Parkman. Male was hired to drive for callers adult daughters and has made comments the caller feels were inappropriate. Family has also noticed the male grows increasingly nervous around law enforcement and wants deputies to look into him.
4:26 p.m., Merritt Road, Munson. Female in lobby of post to report an incident that occurred two years ago involving a coven of witches in Newbury. Complainant was advised to speak with her mental health counselor about issues regarding the witches.
11:42 a.m., Ravenna Road, Auburn. Someone is texting my teenage daughter asking for inappropriate things. We would like to find out who and put a stop to it.
11:17 p.m., Leader Lane, Hambden. Someone using a fake Facebook profile is posting nude pictures of the callers friend on her Facebook page. Caller stated John Doe posted nude photo of her friend on Facebook. Deputy advised caller to inform her friend to review her security/privacy settings on Facebook and to report fake profile to Facebook security staff for removal.
4:28 p.m., Bridge Road, Middlefield. Light blue sedan drove by eastbound heading toward Swine Creek Park. White male driver was completely naked. The caller would like someone to check on him. UTL/GOA. Complainant observed driver without shirt on driving slow past his yard.
11:25 a.m., Lela Lane, Newbury. Caller is calling for father and his ex-wife has stolen $3,400 out of the account. Deputy advised. No theft. Both parties are still married; her name is still on the bank account.
11:39 a.m., Washington Street, Auburn. Suspect was in the town hall at 11:20 a.m. He was upset over life in general; believes we need to get guns and start killing people. Township wants to file a report. No threats made against township employees. Suspect was interviewed and advised of the concerns.
7:33 p.m., Shaw Road, Auburn. Coon hunters were on my property but are heading north toward 422. Deputies searched the area and located the vehicle of the hunters. However, upon checking the large area of the public grounds and standing by for approximately 20 minutes, no hunters were located. Deputy will return if hunters return to private property. Complainant advised of findings.
9:16 p.m., Mentor Road, Chardon. Caller received information today reference a female who delivered a baby today at Geauga hospital. Mother and the child have tested positive for opiates. Mother has two other children at the address. Caller requesting welfare check on the other children due to concerns over drugs. Would like to be sure basic needs are being met. Caller received information from hospital security that mother is on probation due to felony drug charge. Female with boyfriend; both telling staff they are from Nevada. All information passed on to JFS and grandfather was advised should any questions arise to contact JFS.
