After a brief hiatus because of COVID-19, Fall Fest returned to the Chardon Square on Oct. 2. One of the community’s first fall cool evenings, much fun was had by all participants.

As in past years at Fall Fest, the Chardon Area Kiwanis were charged with leading the efforts to construct scarecrows during the evening’s events, which also marked the beginning of the scarecrow competition.

For anyone interested in a friendly competition, simply text a picture of one’s scarecrow to the Kiwanis at 440-796-6477 before Oct. 25. The three best scarecrow pictures will receive a prize to be awarded around Halloween, which is being celebrated from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Oct. 31 in the City of Chardon.

“It is so nice to see the young families come up to the square to work together to create a unique scarecrow to take home,” said Heather Penrod, coordinator of the scarecrows project for the Chardon Area Kiwanis. “Fall Fest is one of my favorite events held in the city.”
