Russell Township’s old fire station is on life support until township trustees decide if it should be torn down or restored. On July 15, trustees held a special meeting and voted unanimously to give Trustee Gary Gabram authority to work with Facilities Superintendent Shane Wrench. They will find a contractor to fix up the old brick building so it is safe and useable. On July 1, trustees voted to hire structural engineering company Shenberger and Associates of Cleveland to determine if the old fire station is structurally safe for storage of township items.
