Robert T. Moore
Robert T. “Terry” Moore, age 81, passed away Nov. 17, 2022, with his loved ones by his side at his home in Munson Township.
He was born on May 25, 1941, to Robert William and Ruth (nee Long) Moore in Findlay, where he was raised.
Terry went on to attend Bowling Green State University, where he was vice president of his fraternity, Phi Kappa Tau, and received his B.S. in Education in 1964.
It was during those years at Bowling Green that he met the love of his life, Janet R. Hanslik. What started as a friendship blossomed into a loving relationship. They married Aug. 31, 1963, and moved to Chester Township, where they began their family. In 1976, they moved to their forever home in Munson.
Terry taught history, political science and literature at Mentor High School for many years and then went into insurance sales. After much success as a sales executive in health insurance, he retired from Self-Funded Plans in 2002.
Terry was a die-hard fan of the Cleveland Browns and Indians, and many Saturdays you could find him watching college football.
He had a passion for literature and was a huge history buff, especially when it came to World War II.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 60 years, Jan; children, Brett A., of Burton, Bryan C. (Michele), of Concord Township, and Robyn G., of Chardon; and grandson, Gavin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Joyce Moore Wood.
A small family memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022, beginning at 11 a.m., at Burr Funeral Home, 116 South St., Chardon.
