Family Pride Open House

Family Pride of Northeast Ohio, a family-focused mental health agency in Chardon, is hosting its first annual art auction and open house Sept. 25, from 3-7 p.m. All are welcome to join the Family Pride team in celebrating nine years of helping children and families in Geauga, Lake and Ashtabula counties.

Visit the agency’s expanded addition at its office building located at 695 South St. Suite 6, meet Family Pride team members and view and bid on artwork from this summer’s art contest. In addition, there are several excellent Chinese and silent auction opportunities.

Bloodmobile

American Red Cross blood donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health. Donors may give every 56 days and must bring some form of photo identification and a list of all current medications.

2014 Immunization Clinics

The Geauga County General Health District offers free walk-in immunization clinics for children and adolescents through the age of 18. Residents must present an immunization record as well as a current insurance card. The following is a list of upcoming immunization clinics:

Flu Shots

Lake Health is offering quadrivalent flu shots for $30 at the Chardon Campus, 510 Fifth Ave., Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

No appointment is necessary. Individuals must be 18 years of age or older to receive the seasonal flu vaccine at our centers. The influenza vaccination is covered by Medicare.

Blood Pressure Screenings

Lake Health will offer free blood pressure checks at the Chardon Campus, 510 Fifth Ave., from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday and Sunday.

NAMI Speaker Meeting

Terry Russell, executive director of NAMI Ohio, will be the guest speaker at the NAMI Geauga County speaker meeting at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 25 at Munson Township Hall, 12210 Auburn Road. He will talk about the past, present and future of mental health care, what can be done to improve it and some of the difficulties he faces in the current environment.

LGRC Alumni Pancake Breakfast in Painesville

Lake-Geauga Recovery Center is hosting an alumni association pancake breakfast for all former clients and their families on Sept. 27 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the First Church Congregational UCC located at 22 Liberty St. in Painesville. The all-you-can-eat breakfast will be held in the Fellowship Hall.

The event is designed to reach out to all alumni who may be interested in learning more about or participating in a newly-established alumni asso-ciation, which will participate in special events, help with volunteer opportunities and establish new friendships with other alumni or family members of alumni.

Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 10 and under. No registration is necessary.
