Forty-Five Candidates Apply for Park Commissioner Appointment

Forty-five (45) Geauga County residents (or individuals who said they would move to Geauga) have expressed an interest in being appointed to the Geauga Park District Board of Commissioners, including former Park Commissioner Jim Patterson.

Geauga County Probate Court Judge Tim Grendell will appoint three new park commissioners from the following candidates:

– Robert Cox, of Chardon

– Charlene Powell, of Newbury

– Lawrence Bennett, of South Russell

– James McConnell, of Chester

– Jessie Jones, of Newbury

– Kristina Port, of Russell

– Timothy Snyder, of Burton

– James Pruce, of Chardon

– Heidi O’Neill, of Russell

– Eugene Zrinyi Jr., of Auburn

– John Baird, of Chardon

– R. Craig Virnelson, of Chester

– Louis Mucci, of Burton

– Dave Chew, of Auburn

– Jason Karasek, of Middlefield

– Doug Cisan, of Burton

The board of park commissioners is scheduled to meet at 3:30 p.m. Jan. 14 at the Donald W. Meyer Center in Big Creek Park.

Grendell is expected to appoint the new commissioners during the week of Jan. 6.
