Novice State Speech Tourney

The Kenston High School Speech and Debate team concluded its 2015 season at the Novice State Speech Tournament. The duo team of Megan Herbruck and Savannah Georgian placed first. Jimmy Spriggs placed third in Expository Speaking out of 20 competitors. Morgan Spehar placed sixth in the Humor category.

Four-Way Speech Contest

Every year the Chagrin Valley Rotary Club holds the Four-Way Speech contest for area students to compete for cash prizes. The speeches need to be about what the Rotary Four-Way Test means to them. The Four-Way Test is comprised of the things we think, say or do: It’s it the truth? It’s it fair to all concerned? Will it build goodwill and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned?

Congratulations go to Cassie Holub and Belle Puckett. Belle will continue on to the next level of competition.

Certificate of Excellence

Kenston was recently awarded The Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting by the national Government Finance Officers Association for its preparation of a comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR) that satisfies all Government Accounting Standard Board requirements and exceeds the minimum requirements for transparency and full disclosure in the preparation of annual financial reports. The award program recognizes organizations that provide their constituents with standard and concise financial statements, allowing the user to determine the financial health of the organization.
