Get ready for a colorful, musical, under the sea experience. Geauga Lyric Theater is performing Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” for the first time April 20-23 and May 5-14. Although the shows are skipping a weekend for Chardon’s Maple Festival, the characters will be in the parade.
A Disney favorite, it is the story of Ariel, a rebellious teen age mermaid, who longs to live on land and falls in love with a prince she spies on a boat. Defying her father and making a bargain with the evil sea witch Ursula to trade her voice for legs doesn’t turn out exactly as she plans. Add an ensemble of beautiful sea creatures, wacky animals and mer-sisters singing and dancing, it is a show that is fun for the whole family.
Performances are weekends April 20 to May 14, excluding April 28-30. Fridays and Saturdays are at 8 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online at www.geaugatheater.org or by calling the box office.
The historic Geauga Lyric Theater is located at 101 Water St, on the beautiful Chardon Square.
