Sheriff’s Report
July 13, 2017

The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office June 30 to July 6. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 424 calls during this seven-day period.

BURGLARY

July 2

9:41 p.m., Nash Road, Troy. Caller believes his home has been burglarized. He is not sure if anyone is in the house. The lower level window is broken and the lights are on; they were off when he left. Caller reports his house has been burglarized before. Report taken.

CITIZEN DISPUTE

July 6

4:51 p.m., Cloverdale Drive, Middlefield. Caller made a report yesterday regarding his neighbors’ kids keep throwing a plastic ball at his head. Caller would like to speak with an officer as he got hit in the head with a plastic ball again today. Deputy spoke to the caller and he advised he was having problems with his neighbor. He stated a little boy lives over there and hit him with a whiffleball. He is not injured; he just doesn’t know how to make them stop.

EXTRA PATROL

July 6

6:55 p.m., Cumberland Trail, Auburn. Caller’s mailbox was blown up last night around 2 a.m. Caller reported his neighbors are concerned there may be fireworks placed in their mailboxes. No fireworks in mailboxes or anywhere else in the neighborhood have been spotted.

HARASSMENT

July 2

9:28 a.m., Stonegate Drive, Munson. Female receiving several phone calls with a male asking “are you home.” Several weeks ago, a female also had someone come over. Neighbors told her they might be getting ready to “clean her out.” Deputy spoke to homeowners who are receiving suspicious phone calls. Deputy to call and speak with party and advise to cease calling.

THEFT

July 3

10:35 a.m., S. Wintergreen Drive, Chardon. The complainant advised his “house for sale” sign has been stolen six times. She would like to file a report. Deputy advised. Sign was on private property. Unknown if removed by property owner. Another sign was near a guardrail. Caller was advised to check with property owner and zoning to see if they were removed by either party.
