Hear the story of The Technology House (TTH), who nearly 20 years ago was on the leading edge of 3-D printing. Today, TTH is at the forefront of 3-D printing having been selected as one of five companies nationwide to beta test carbon MI printers.

Newbury United Community Church is hosting a fresh produce giveaway at the church located at 14961 Auburn Road.
Cleveland FoodBank provides the service to low income Geauga County residents. Please bring ID and bags.
Distributions are the first Saturday of the month through Nov. 4.
Annual Turkey Dinner

Huntsburg Congregational Church will hold a traditional turkey dinner at the church located at 12435 Madison Road.
Cost is $11 for adults, $9 for seniors 65 and older, and $6 for children ages 5-10. Children under 5 are free. Carry out is available. Tickets will be sold at the church beginning at 4 p.m.
Chinese auction tickets are $1 each or six for $5.

A Knight at Sharon James

Newbury Black Knight Parent Association presents the fourth annual “A Knight at Sharon James” at Sharon James Cellars, 11303 Kinsman Road in Newbury.

Taste of Bainbridge

The annual Taste of Bainbridge affair will be held at the Chagrin Valley Athletic Club. Cocktail hour begins at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. plus raffles and games. More than 20 area eateries will serve their special delicacies.
Tickets are $40 per person. Proceeds benefit Bainbridge Area Food for Friends, student scholarships and other community activities.

Help for the Homeless
Oct. 7, 6-9 p.m.
The annual fundraiser dinner and program for Geauga Faith Rescue Mission (GFRM), a homeless shelter project in Geauga County, will be held at the Notre Dame Education Center Auditorium, 13000 Auburn Road in Chardon. Tickets can be purchased by mailing $75 per person to GFRM, P.O. Box 823, Chardon or online at www.gfrmission.org by clicking on the Events link.
The evening includes live music with dinner, a video presentation, informational speakers and silent and live auctions. Guest speaker is Gerry Grim, chief operating officer at Edwins Leadership & Restaurant Institute.

Fall Fest

Fall Fest will be held on historic Chardon Square. The evening will include s’mores, sponsored by the Chardon Area Rotary; scarecrow making, sponsored by the Chardon Area Kiwanis; a balloon artist, sponsored by the Chardon Square Association; hot drinks, sponsored by Sheetz; and DJ music, sponsored by the City of Chardon. In addition, there will be free hot dogs, cider and roasted marshmallows.

CV Herb Society Meets

Farmers Harvest 5K

The Northeast Counties Farm Bureau, serving Ashtabula, Geauga, Lake and Trumbull County Farm Bureaus, have partnered together to sponsor the Together with Farmers Harvest 5K & 1 Mile race to at the Great Geauga County Fairgrounds, 14373 N. Cheshire St., Burton.

Preregistration cost, before Oct. 7, which guarantees an event shirt, is $20; after Oct. 7, the cost is $25, with no shirt guarantee. Flying Club Hosts Swap Meet

Geauga Radio Controlaires is hosting the sixth annual Jim Gardner Memorial RC Model Swap Meet at the Mentor Beach Park Pavilion, 7779 Lakeshore Blvd. in Mentor-on-the-Lake.
Eighty exhibitor tables of radio controlled planes, helicopters, quadcopters, cars, boats, radios, tools and accessories will be displayed for sale, barter and trade by regional modelers.
Admission is $5. Youth 11 and under are free. Hot food will be available. Parking is free.

Threats to Forest Health

Blackbrook Audubon Society will host a free program at Big Creek Park, 9160 Robinson Road in Chardon Township. Guest speaker Ryan Trimbath will illustrate how browsing by white-tailed deer above the soil surface and activities by invasive earthworms below combine to degrade forest understory diversity.
He will share results from his three-year study on how forest plant communities have been impacted and how these changes affect hooded warblers in the Cuyahoga Valley.

Vendors Sought for Shopping Fair

Auburn Firedevils, auxiliary to the Auburn Volunteer Fire Department, is hosting its sixth annual arts, crafts and consultants fair at Adams Halls, 11455 Washington St., Auburn Township.
The group is seeking vendors for the event. Tables are $25 each. Tables and chairs are provided. There is ample parking.
