The Lake Effect Concert Band will be performing a free concert on at the Sisters of Notre Dame Education Center, 13000 Auburn Road, Chardon.

Sisters of Notre Dame Host Free Band Concert

Oct. 15, 3-4 p.m.

The Lake Effect Concert Band will be performing a free concert on at the Sisters of Notre Dame Education Center, 13000 Auburn Road, Chardon. One of two ensembles performing under the auspices of the Snowbelt Musical Arts Association (SMAA), the Lake Effect Concert Band will be presenting an eclectic mixture of band classics and popular tunes.

The concert will take place in a handicap-accessible auditorium, and there is ample free parking. The family-friendly event is free and open to all. Donations will be appreciated.

GANG Features Geauga Artist

Oct. 17, 6:30-8 p.m.

The Geauga Arts Network Group (GANG) will feature artist Jean Balas at its meeting taking place at the Heinen’s Café, 402 Center St. in Chardon.

Balas creates works in a variety of media. During the meeting, the artist will be displaying samples of her work while discussing her artistic technique and history as an artist.

The educational program is free and open to the general public; no reservations are necessary.

Area High School Fall Plays

Local high schools are offering fall play productions. Tickets may be purchased at the door or ahead of time by contacting each school. Information was provided by the Geauga Council for Arts and Culture.

Berkshire High School: “Little Women,” Nov. 17 and 18, 7 p.m.

Cardinal High School: “American Idle,” Nov. 17 and 18, 7:30 p.m.; and Nov. 19, 3 p.m.

Chardon High School: “The Crucible,” Nov. 16-18, 7 p.m.; and Nov. 19, 2:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students.
