Six Newbury high school choir students in grades 9-12 were selected to take part in the 2017 Kent State University All Star Choir Festival held at Kent State University on Oct. 15 and 16.
Students participating were junior Nicole Sigan, senior Solielle Girmai, junior Niamh Field, sophomore Sage Neidbalson, senior Brittany Whelchel and freshman Greg Bullis.
The students rehearsed with Dr. Scott MacPherson on Oct. 15. They then performed a final concert in Cartwright Hall on Oct. 16 with over 100 other top high school choir students from all over the northeastern Ohio region.
