Junction Auto Sales is hosting a Stuff The Van event to benefit Geauga County Job and Family Services through Dec. 10. Donations of new toys and clothing and nonperishable foods can be dropped off at Junction Auto Sales GMC or Chrysler buildings. Donations will be donated to the families on Dec. 18.
Monetary donations will also be accepted. Make checks payable to Special Services and include Sponsor a Family in the memo portion of the check.
GEL Breakfast

Join for a local government forum at the next Geauga Economic Leadership (G.E.L.) breakfast at KSU Geauga, 14111 Claridon Troy Road in Burton.
The forum features Geauga County Commissioner Tim Lennon, City of Chardon Mayor, Nancy McArthur, South Russell Mayor, Bill Koons, Bainbridge Township Trustee Kristina O’Brien and Claridon Township Trustee Roger Miller.
Each government official will present information about challenges and opportunities that are of interest to businesses, residents and/or the Geauga County community at large followed by a question and answer session.
Breakfast and networking begin at 7:30 a.m. followed by the presentation at 8 a.m. Free and open to the public. Registration is appreciated.

Bainbridge Women’s Club will host its 40th annual holiday boutique at Bainbridge Town Hall, 17826 Chillicothe Road. Enjoy crafts, a bake sale, light lunch and raffle. Admission is free.
Metzenbaum Quilt & Craft Auction
Nov. 4, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Metzenbaum Center will host its 35th annual Amish quilt and craft auction at the center located at 8200 Cedar Road in Chester Township. Event features more than 25 handmade quilts, wreaths, Amish furniture, toys and more. A silent auction and cash and carry holiday shop will round out the day’s activities.
Kiwanis of West Geauga will serve a pancake breakfast from 8-11 a.m. A hot lunch, refreshments and Amish baked goods will also be available.
Sponsored by Families and Friends of the Metzenbaum Center, all proceeds benefit the individuals served by the Geauga County Board of Developmental Disabilities (GCBDD). Free parking outside of the Metzenbaum Center and a shuttle service that will transport people to and from the parking lot will be available.
Agape Autumn Auction
Nov. 4, 4 p.m.
Agape Christian Academy will host its 13th annual Autumn Auction at Mespo Expo Center. Tickets are $15 per person and include a family style chicken, pot roast and mashed potato dinner with dessert along with access to the Chinese, silent and live auctions. Doors open at 4 p.m., with dinner served at 5:30 p.m. Several hundred items will be available.

DTJ Chicken and Duck Dinner

DTJ Taborville is hosting its final chicken and duck dinner of the year at 9850 North Blvd. in Chagrin Falls. Cost is $12.50 for an adult dinner and $6.50 for a children’s chicken dinner. A half duck dinner is $17.50.

Annual Turkey Dinner

Women’s Fellowship of Parkman Congregational Church is preparing and serving their annual Election Day turkey dinner with all the trimmings at the church located at 18265 Madison Road.

VFW Chili with Cornbread

Chardon VFW Post 6519 will serve homemade chili with cornbread for dinner every Wednesday in November to complement its weekly Queen of Hearts drawing. Cost is $5 per serving. To-go dinners are available.
Tuskegee Airman Presentation

Join for a presentation featuring Harold H. Brown, Tuskegee Airman and World War II pilot and author Marsha Bordner as they discuss the memoir “Keep Your Airspeed Up: The Story of a Tuskegee Airman” in the Dr. Wayne L. Rodehorst Performing Art Center at Lakeland Community College. Books will be available for sale and signing for $35 at the event.

Veterans Day Events
Nov. 9-11
The Atwood-Mauck American Legion Post 459 will participate in a Veterans Day program at Berkshire Elementary School on Nov. 9 at 9 a.m. and at Newbury Elementary School on Nov. 10 from 9-10 a.m. in the school auditorium.
Then, on Nov. 11 from 4:30-7 p.m., Post 459 will host an open house and soup and chili dinner at the legion home located at 14052 Goodwin St. in Burton.

Circus Costumes Exhibit
Nov. 10-26, 2-7 p.m.
Middlefield Historical Society is hosting a display of authentic circus costumes from Barnum & Bailey and other circus troupes in a circus-themed setting at Century Inn Underloft located at 14979 South State Ave. in Middlefield Village. The exhibit runs Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 2-7 p.m. There will be a circus-theme raffle.

Gift Of Magi Boutique
Nov. 10-11
A preview party for the annual Gift for the Magi holiday boutique will be held Nov. 10 from 7-9 p.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 11900 Chillicothe Road in Chester Township. For adults only, the $5 admission includes preview of the boutique, music, hors d’oeuvres and wine.
The boutique runs Nov. 11 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and features handcrafted items by more than 35 juried crafters. Admission is free. Featured this year is a quilt raffle; tickets are $2 each or three for $5.
Join the Boutique Bounce on Nov. 10 and 11 by also shopping the boutiques at St. Anselm Church, 13013 Chillicothe Road in Chester, and Old South Church, 9802 Chillicothe Road in Kirtland. Shoppers who visit the three boutiques will be eligible for one of three grand prizes. Begin the bounce at any of the churches and get the card stamped at each location. Drawing will be held Nov. 12.
Housing Coalition Chili Cook-Off

The Geauga County Housing Coalition is holding its fifth annual fundraiser at Metzenbaum Center, 8200 Cedar Road in Chester Township. Proceeds will be distributed to local agencies to help homeless and at-risk individuals and families in Geauga County.
Numerous Geauga County agencies will have their special chili recipes for attendees to taste and judge. The event also includes a silent auction, a Chinese auction, a 50/50 raffle and many door prizes, along with information about local agencies and services.
Tickets are $10, which includes appetizers, chili tasting, corn bread and homemade desserts.

Christmas Boutique

St. Anselm’s Women’s Guild will have their annual Christmas Boutique at St. Anselm Church, 13013 Chillicothe Road in Chester Township.
The boutique features more than 80 area vendors, a snack bar, bake sale and prize raffle.
Admission is $1 and includes one raffle ticket.

Heroes Of Conservation Awards

Protect Geauga Parks will host the third annual Geauga Heroes of Conservation reception in the community room of Munson Township Hall, 12210 Auburn Road.
The reception will honor two conservation heroes – Dr. James Bissell and The League of Women Voters of Geauga County – along with the first presentation of the Protect Geauga Parks Bob McCullough Conservation Scholarships.
The event will feature music, poetry and refreshments.

Hambden Explorers Open House

Hambden Fire Explorers open house will take place at 9867 Old State Road in Chardon.
Everyone is welcome. The event will feature walking tacos, a bake sale, fire trucks, equipment demonstrations, pictures with Sparky, gear races and the ambulances.
Fresh Farmers’ Winter Market
The Geauga Fresh Farmers’ Market will open its winter market for its third year inside Lowe’s Greenhouse, Florist and Gift Shop, 16540 Chillicothe Road in Bainbridge. The market will run from 9 a.m. to noon every Saturday from Nov. 4 to Dec. 6 and then from Jan. 6 to March 17.
The winter market will offer many fresh, local, quality products and many vendors familiar to those who attended both the summer and winter markets.
