GCP Entrepreneur Success Breakfast

Geauga Growth Partnership’s quarterly Entrepreneur Success Breakfast features the Epprecht family of Great Lakes Cheese. Hear the success story behind Geauga County’s largest privately owned business with nine state-of-the-art plants nationwide.

The event begins with networking and a light breakfast at 7:30 a.m. followed by a program from 8-9 a.m. at Kent State University Geauga, 14111 Claridon Troy Road in Burton.

Fall Rummage Sale

CV Herb Society Meets

The Chagrin Valley Herb Society will meet at the Bainbridge Library. Following the business meeting, the group will enjoy a high tea, with finger sandwiches and sweets. Guests may dress for the occasion and are asked to bring a teacup and dessert plate.

Food Distribution

The Cleveland Food Bank will be distributing food to people in need at Celebration Lutheran Church, 10621 Auburn Road in Chardon.

Shopping Extravaganza

Auburn Firedevils, auxiliary to the Auburn Volunteer Fire Department, is hosting its sixth annual arts, crafts and consultants fair at Adams Halls, 11455 Washington St., Auburn Township.

Hambden Explorers Open House

Nov. 18, 3-7 p.m.

Hambden Fire Explorers open house will take place at 9867 Old State Road in Chardon.

Everyone is welcome. The event will feature walking tacos, a bake sale, fire trucks, equipment demonstrations, pictures with Sparky, gear races and the ambulances.

Sausage Sandwich Dinner

Nov. 18, 5:30-7 p.m.

Chardon VFW Post 6519 will serve an Italian sausage sandwich dinner. Donation is $6. There will also be drink specials and games.

Audubon Birds Geauga Lakes

Nov. 19, 9 a.m.

Blackbrook Audubon will scan inland lakes for migrating ducks, loons and grebes. Everyone is invited to meet at the State Route 608 parking lot of Geauga Park District’s Headwaters Park in Huntsburg to carpool or caravan to LaDue Reservoir.

Mentor Marsh Restoration

Nov. 21, 7 p.m.

Blackbrook Audubon will host a free program at the Holden Arboretum is at 9550 Sperry Road in Kirtland. Guest speaker David Kriska, biodiversity coordinator for the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, will present “Mentor Marsh: History, Tragedy, Recovery.”

The meeting will also feature a ticket raffle of nature-themed items as a fundraiser for “Audubon Adventures,” a publication for third- through fifth-graders in Lake and Geauga counties.

VFW Chili With Cornbread

Wednesdays, 4:30-7:30 p.m.

Chardon VFW Post 6519 will serve homemade chili with cornbread for dinner every Wednesday in November to complement its weekly Queen of Hearts drawing. Cost is $5 per serving. To-go dinners are available.

Free Thanksgiving Dinner

Nov. 23, 12-3 p.m.

St. Anselm Church is holding its annual free buffet style Thanksgiving dinner in Kelly Hall located on the church grounds, 13013 Chillicothe Road, Chester Township. All are welcome.

Food Pantry Open

Nov. 24, 10 a.m. to noon

The Food Pantry at Chester Christian Center A/G Church will be open to the community. The pantry is open to anyone in need of food; one does not need to be a member of the church to attend.

The church is located at 11815 Chillicothe Road in Chester Township.

PCC Chili Dinner

Pilgrim Christian Church is holding its annual chili dinner at 202 S. Hambden St. on Chardon Square. Tickets will be sold at the door.

Executive Caterers’ annual fundraising luncheon at Landerhaven will benefit Lake-Geauga Recovery Centers. Enjoy lunch and a performance by the Singing Angels.

Registration begins at 11 a.m. followed by the luncheon and program at noonl.

The Ladies Auxiliary of the Chardon Eagles FOE 2261 is holding its sixth annual holiday cookie sale at the post located at 317 Water St. in Chardon. Cost is $6 per pound. Proceeds benefit the ladies auxiliary scholarship fund.
