Sheriff’s Report
The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Dec. 1-7, 2017. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 347 calls during this seven-day period.
CITIZEN DISPUTE
Dec. 1
6:12 p.m., Hobart Road, Parkman. Neighbors are Amish and their taxi driver’s lights keep shining into my house and I would like to file a report. They reported me last night and was told by a deputy I would get arrested for menacing, so I am calling to report them tonight. Spoke to caller about the lights shining in his house again. Advice given.
DOMESTIC DISPUTE
Dec. 2
11:05 p.m., Nicoles Way, Munson. Teenage girl and her father got into an altercation about 20 minutes ago. They are separated now. He pushed her into her room. This has happened before. Her parents went through her room earlier and found a condom. That is what started the argument. She is afraid to be there with her father. Deputy has report.
HARASSMENT
Dec. 1
5:26 p.m., Fairmeadow Lane, Burton Township. Caller would like to make a report about her daughter being cyber-bullied. She is a teenager and is being bullied on all her social media accounts by an ex-friend who lives out of state, where caller used to live. Caller has contacted the male’s school and also contacted all social medial accounts about blocking him and he is now using other accounts to contact her. Deputy advised. Daughter contacted the other male first today; nothing mean or threatening was said over Snapchat. Advice given to block the male. Clear.
Dec. 5
12:58 p.m., Bass Lake Road, Munson. A member has been making statements to a staff member, making her uncomfortable and last night it really got out of control and another staff member had to escort him out of the building. Member has been making rude comments to staff member about cheating on her husband with the member. He was told to stop. Member attempted to make amends. On Dec. 4, member tried to talk to staff member and got mad when she declined to speak with him. Member started to yell and cause a scene at front desk. Advice was given to management to handle internally and YMCA will be suspending the membership. Advised to contact GCSO if any other problems arrive. No violence or threats of violence occurred. Staff requests extra patrol.
SUSPICIOUS
Dec. 1
7:43 p.m., Main Market Road, Parkman. Blood courier thinks someone is trying to hijack his blood. The car behind his flashing lights at him. He is at the gas station. They guy flipped him off and went eastbound on U.S. Route 422.
Dec. 5
9:02 a.m., Brakeman Road, Hambden. Male is my late wife’s brother. He calls here all hours of the night. He even comes to the house and stands in the yard talking about snipers and dynamite. He is mental. He is not here now. Would like to speak with a deputy.
7:37 p.m., Mayfield Road, Munson. Caller believes he is trying to be killed. His car was blown up. Took place at Circle K. Deputy advised. Report taken.
Dec. 6
12:23 a.m., Ravenna Road, Munson. Deputy was advised of a female walking down Route 44 in a nightgown. Female checks OK. Stated she was walking to stay in shape. Transported female to her residence.
THEFT
Dec. 1
12:20 p.m., Somerset Drive, Hambden. Caller is in the lobby wanting to file a stolen gun report. Occurred sometime between March 2017 and now. It is an S&W 38 special with a five-inch barrel. Communal property. Advice given.
Dec. 5
12:32 p.m., Kenny Drive, Hambden. Caller advised his uncle is taking his mail and he took the keys to the trailer, and caller cannot leave because he won’t be able to get back into the trailer. Deputy advised.
WELFARE CHECK
Dec. 1
6:02 p.m., Sherman Road, Munson. Caller believes she was followed out of the hospital in Concord. It was possibly a patient who made some threats due to not getting pain meds. No name but a female. Driver was a male. Female patient made comments in the hospital lobby that she was involved with ISIS and someone would get hurt. Plate comes back NIF. Caller is home and checks OK.
