Sheriff’s Report
December 7, 2017

The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Nov. 27-30, 2017. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 239 calls during this seven-day period.

AIRCRAFT

Nov. 28

5:15 p.m., Old State Road, Middlefield. Cessna 150, white and blue in color was supposed to land at 4:29 p.m., but they have to contact and confirm their landing. Airport manager is unable to go to the airport to verify, requesting a deputy check on them. Leidos is prepping for search and rescue and need verification. Deputy advised. The plane is on the ground at Geauga Airport and everyone is fine. Aircraft landed without incident.

Nov. 30

10:08 a.m., Madison Road, Middlefield. Very low flying helicopter and has even landed and is hovering just above the ground. He went back up and is circling and coming back down now. They are right next to the business Senterra Propane. Something is sticking out of the right front of the helicopter. He is hovering up the ground again, caller believes they may be waiting on hunters to come out of the woods. He just keeps repeating the same process over and over again. He is now circling the woods. Deputy unable to locate the helicopter.

NOISE PROBLEM

Nov. 30

11:44 p.m., Munn Road, Auburn. Construction has been going on at this property. It’s located behind the complainant. She states the heavy machinery is very loud and she would like us to request them to stop for the night. She says they’ve been out there all day, but now she’s trying to go to bed and it’s very loud and the lights are shining at her house. Deputy sat in the area and was unable to hear any loud noises. Checked the listed address and all the lights were off at the residence. Area was quiet.

PROPERTY DAMAGE

Nov. 30

8:36 a.m., Erwin Drive, Burton. The caller advised someone damaged his property last night. Deputy advised. On going problem with the neighbor. Complainant already spoke with Deputies last night, but wanted it known that a light was put up to capture whoever is tearing down the “no trespassing” signs that the have posted.

THEFT

Nov. 29

4:03 p.m., Bass Lake Road, Munson. Glock 26 handgun is missing from the house. The caller believes the crew that is currently at the house renovating may be responsible for taking the gun but they have all denied it. The caller has kept the crew at her house and would like a deputy to respond.
