Sheriff’s Report
The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Oct. 19-25, 2018. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 353 calls during this seven-day period.
ANIMAL PROBLEM
Oct. 23
2:26 p.m., Barnstable Road, Parkman. Pig in yard, did some damage, 150 pounds or so. Unknown who owns it. Damage was done to the yard and two bunnies were killed. Amish male and son looking for the pig that took off into the woods.
CITIZEN DISPUTE
Oct. 22
4:13 p.m., Chadwick Court, Auburn. Caller was involved in a road rage incident and subject followed him to his home. Caller felt threatened and confronted the male. Male party never got off of his motorcycle and there was no physical exchange, just verbal. Caller believes he was upset because they passed him on Snyder Road in front of Timmons. Caller does not believe he needs to meet with a deputy; he does want the information logged in the event there are further problems.
FRAUD
Oct. 22
2:08 p.m., Kinsman Road, Burton. Verizon called him and said someone tried to open a cell phone in his name. Verizon stopped transaction. Advice given.

OVERDOSE
Oct. 23
9:45 p.m., Bell Street, Newbury. 23-year-old female may be overdosing. Female advises she is taking meth; she is laying on the floor and is not responding appropriately. She is feeling weak. Report taken.
PROPERTY DAMAGE
Oct. 22
3:04 p.m., Madison Road, Huntsburg. Meet with Huntsburg Township representatives at town hall. They have video footage of damage done to the township road department building. Report taken, follow up needed.
ROAD RAGE
Oct. 23
10:20 p.m., Rock Creek Road, Hambden. Car has rammed caller and is chasing him. Rear-ended caller and then hit him on the side. Caller is driving a black Ford Ranger and other vehicle is a silver Chevy Blazer. Deputy advised. Chardon PD advised. Caller has blown out tires. Officer with truck in Chase parking lot. Highway patrol pulling up.
SUSPICIOUS
Oct. 23
12:05 a.m., Rock Creek Road, Thompson. Male was having a video chat with an unknown person on Skype in the nude. During the conversation, the unknown person stated they took photos of him and wanted him to give a credit card number over the video chat. Male exited the video chat and wanted advice for what to do. Advice given.
THEFT
Oct. 25
7:39 p.m., Pioneer Road, Huntsburg. Was scammed out of $2,000. She already has contacted PayPal. Male is now harassing her on the phone. Deputy advised. Info taken for a report.
UNCONSCIOUSNESS
Oct. 20
7:45 a.m., Mayfield Road, Munson. Male in a vehicle for over an hour at the pumps. Male is slumped over the wheel. Won’t wake up. One male arrested for physical control and other offenses. Report to follow.
