Newbury Schools Step Up the Game

In an effort to continuously improve, Newbury Local Schools has adopted Campus Visualization, a data analysis program. The program runs Tableau, a data analysis software used by Fortune 500 companies. Newbury is the only school in Geauga County to use the program and teachers are excited to be able to easily view all types of student and school data to improve instruction and overall student performance.

Tableau collects information on students across all subjects, tests and other measured criteria and combines the data in one easy to use location. With this information, teachers are able to recognize and identify issues students are struggling with sooner and provide a response that best serves the student as an individual.

As a staff, the Newbury instructors are planning to use the reports generated by this software to help collaborate and communicate better with one another. The new insight provided by this exclusive software will help us to further our understanding of opportunities within the district and also provide us with a better understanding of our successes and strengths as well.

The move to this particular data analysis software is just one of several ongoing changes in keeping with Newbury Local Schools’ determination to be an educational leader in Geauga County and Northeast Ohio.

Newbury’s Woven Together

Newbury’s school-wide project this year brings students and staff together in creating a large work of art that embodies the idea that we are all woven together by an amazing school community. Each student and staff member will select a unique strip of fabric representing his or her individuality and weave it through a large wire frame, thus connecting everyone in a beautiful, artistic tapestry. The finished project will be able to be seen at Newbury’s county library.
