Nov. 2-8, 2018

The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Nov. 2-8, 2018. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 353 calls during this seven-day period.

CITIZEN DISPUTE

Nov. 2

4:20 p.m., Turner Drive, Aquilla. Caller is having neighbor problems today. They are blowing their leaves in her yard, using a leaf blower. Caller reports they also parked in front of her house illegally. Spoke with neighbors who stated they were paving the driveway and didn’t mean to upset anyone with the leaves. Advice provided.

Nov. 6

6:54 a.m., North Cheshire Street, Burton. I parked in a handicapped this morning. Person is not letting me move my red Chevy truck until I pay a $250 fine. Spot was not clearly marked; sign was obscured behind a tree. Parties advised.

DISORDERLY

Nov. 3

12:53 a.m., Main Market Rod, Parkman. Four males at the bar being very vulgar comments and just being rude. Complainant is concerned for well being of bartender. Bartender advised she is OK and is familiar with the four males. Located males outside the bar. They advised they were waiting for a ride. Two vehicles arrived shortly thereafter and took the males away from the bar.

FRAUD

Nov. 4

12:14 p.m., Stoney Springs Drive, Claridon. Caller said someone is trying to use her information to obtain prescriptions. Spoke to caller who received numerous cream medications in her son’s name. Prescriptions are from doctor, but the doctor did not prescribe the medication. Cleveland Clinic’s system was compromised earlier in the year.

Nov. 8

3:44 p.m., Twin Creeks Drive, Auburn. Caller was scammed out of $21,000 over the phone. They stated grandson was in jail in Florida. Deputy advised. Report to follow.

INFO REPORT

Nov. 5

6:57 p.m., Taylor May Road, Auburn. Caller reports he believes his wife was drugged in Vegas. After speaking with Vegas PD, they advised him to call his local office to file a courtesy report so he can get information from the CAB company.

PROPERTY DAMAGE

Nov. 3

9:18 a.m., Clark Rod, Chardon. My tire was flat this morning. It looks like someone stabbed the sidewall of my tire. It was determined the tire was dry rotted. Male is taking the tire to a shop to get it inspected. Advice provided.

SUSPICIOUS

Nov. 2

4:51 p.m., Wilson Mills Road, Munson. Two males came to the door. They stated they wanted to get their deer stand. Caller told them they never hunted on his property. Caller had to tell them to get the “hell” off his property. Caller does not wish to see a deputy. Reports the vehicle is now headed east. He flipped off the caller. Checked area. UTL/GOA.

Nov. 5

3:03 p.m., Ravenna Road, Newbury. Caller advised possible someone throwing items at vehicles or into the roadway. Something did hit his vehicle as he passed by and just wanted someone to check, near the concrete wall. No damage to vehicle. Checked area. UTL/GOA.

UNAUTHORIZED USE

Nov. 3

8:51 p.m., Leader Road, Hambden. Loaned my car to a friend a couple of weeks ago and he won’t return it. Caller stated he told his friend he needed the car back by 5 p.m. Nov. 3. Friend did not return the car. Caller was advised to continue to contact the friend and to contact deputy if the vehicle is not returned within 48 hours to pursue criminal charges.

VANDALISM

Nov. 8

4:57 p.m., Overlook Drive, Newbury. Someone spray painted his window and threw something at his window. Caller had cameras installed and knows who the person is. This is the second time this has happened in a week. Caller had video showing which house a young kid loves at. Met with kid and his stepdad. Kid admitted to the vandalism and other occasions he went to caller’s property. They were advised the caller did not want to pursue charges. Parents will handle the punishment.
