Nov. 9-15, 2018
The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Nov. 9-15, 2018. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 352 calls during this seven-day period.
ANIMAL PROBLEM
Nov. 11
1:20 p.m., Henning Drive, Chardon. Neighbor’s chicken is in my yard. Chickens chased out of yard. Owner of chicken not at home.
3:03 p.m., Owen Road, Parkman. Caller would like to speak to a deputy. Her neighbor’s goats are on her property. Owner was advised to contain his goat on his property or he would be criminally charged. Goat only had a rope attached to a spare tire around its neck to try to keep it on the property.
Nov. 14
3:05 p.m., Bates Creek Drive, Hambden. Two little dogs with sweaters in the intersection, trying to get in the school bus. Bus gone; dogs not located.
Nov. 15
3:44 a.m., Thwing Road, Chardon. On Auburn, south of Thwing, donkey in roadway. Checked area. UTL.
FRAUD
Nov. 9
3:43 p.m., Kinsman Road, Newbury. Deputy spoke with complainant who advised he wired $35,000 to a person in North Carolina for a Corvette. He never received the car. Deputy requested a copy of all documents and complete a statement, which will be dropped off at sheriff’s office this weekend. Report to follow.
Nov. 14
11:35 a.m., Frostwood Drive, Auburn. Deputy spoke with female on post. She advised several of her credit cards were compromised and a few new cards were created at Kohl’s and Forever 21. She advised the fraudulent activity originated in Georgia. Advice was given, statement obtained. Nothing further requested.
THEFT
Nov. 15
3:12 p.m., Stone Road, Newbury. Court received an anonymous tip that two men are at a vacant house on the corner of Stone/Longview stealing scrap. Court would like to remind deputies their bond conditions state they are not to have contact with one another. Report taken. Information passed on to probation officer.
