18-F-000879 – Christopher P. Hitchcock, Treasurer of Geauga County, Ohio, Plaintiff vs. Daniel K. Redfern, et al., Defendants
Daniel K. Redfern, the Unknown Spouse of Daniel K. Redfern and the Unknown Heirs of Daniel K. Redfern, whose last known address is 15450 Lakeshore Drive, Burton, Ohio 44021, and present address is unknown, and cannot, with reasonable diligence, be ascertained shall take notice; and, if deceased, their unknown heirs, devises, legatees, administrators, executors and assigns will take notice that on the 27th day of November, 2018, the Treasurer Of Geauga County, filed a Complaint in the Court of Common Pleas, Geauga County, Ohio, 100 Short Court, Chardon, Ohio 44024, entitled Christopher P. Hitchcock, Treasurer Of Geauga County vs. Daniel K. Redfern, et al., Case No: 18-F-000879, against the above-named parties, praying that the premises hereinafter described be sold for the collection of delinquent real estate taxes, owed and unpaid, is $5,775.13 together with accruing taxes, assessments, penalties, interest and charges; as well as court costs, Said premises is described as permanent parcel number 23-116800. A complete legal description of the parcel can be obtained from the Geauga County Recorder’s Office. The volume and page number for the parcel can be obtained from the Geauga County Auditor’s Office.
The object of the action is to obtain from the Court a judgment foreclosing the tax liens against such real estate and ordering the sale of such real estate for the satisfaction of delinquent taxes.
Such action is brought against the real property only and no personal judgment shall be entered in it However, if pursuant to the action, the property is sold for an amount that is less than the amount of the delinquent taxes, assessments, charges, penalties and interest against it, the Court, in a separate order, may enter a deficiency judgment again the owner of record of a parcel for the amount of the difference; if that owner of record is a corporation, the Court may enter the deficiency judgment against the stockholder holding a majority of the corporation’s stock.
The above-named parties are required to answer on or before 28 days after the last date of publication. Such answer must be filed with the Clerk of Courts, and a copy must be served on the Prosecuting Attorney.

ZONING RESOLUTION
Notice is hereby given that the Troy Township Board of Zoning Appeals will conduct a public hearing on an application for an appeal for a variance to the Troy Township Zoning Resolution on the 12th day of February, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at the Troy Community Center, 13950 Main Market Road.
This application #ZP19-1 & 2, submitted by Derek McGrew, Towerking, requests that he be granted relief regarding a Use zoning & area zoning certificate for a wireless communication tower. The application for the appeal pertains to Article XIII section 1303.0 which prohibits wireless communication towers in a residential area and V.3 regarding the placement of the equipment for the tower. Derek McGrew, Towerking, has filed application for a Use & Area zoning certificate and wants it to be granted for the property located at 15149 Shedd Rd. in Troy Township.

ORDINANCE NO. 3049
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT/AGREEMENT WITH PEASE-KERR INSURANCE PARTNERS FOR THE PROPERTY, INLAND MARINE, EDP, CRIME, BOILER AND MACHINERY, AUTOMOBILE LIABILITY, COMPREHENSIVE MUNICIPAL LIABILITY, LAW ENFORCEMENT LIABILITY, PUBLIC OFFICIALS LIABILITY AND UMBRELLA EXCESS LIABILITY COVERAGES, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
An ordinance authorizing the City Manager to enter into a contract with Pease-Kerr Insurance Partners for insurance coverages described above for a premium in the amount of $122,179 for one year.

ORDINANCE NO. 3050
AN ORDINANCE TO SUBMIT TO THE ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF CHARDON THE QUESTION OF AMENDING SECTION 11.01 METHODS AND PROCEDURES OF THE CITY CHARTER TO REQUIRE THE NUMBER OF SIGNATURES ON A CHARTER INITIATIVE PETITION TO BE 10% OF THE NUMBER OF ELECTORS IN THE CITY OF CHARDON WHO VOTED FOR GOVERNOR AT THE MOST RECENT GENERAL ELECTION AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
An ordinance amending §11.01 of the Charter to reduce the number of signatures required for submission of a petition to amend the municipal charter from not less than 10% of the municipal electors to not less than 10% of the number of electors who voted for governor at the most recent general election for the office of governor in the City of Chardon, as set forth in §731.28 O.R.C.

AN ORDINANCE TO SUBMIT TO THE ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF CHARDON THE QUESTION OF AMENDING VARIOUS SECTIONS OF THE CITY CHARTER TO: PROVIDE FOR A MAYOR TO BE ELECTED BY THE CITY’S ELECTORATE IN 2021 AND TO ALSO SERVE AS A SEVENTH COUNCIL MEMBER; TO PROVIDE FOR THE AUTHORITY, DUTIES AND COMPENSATION OF THE MAYOR; TO PROVIDE FOR SIX OTHER ELECTED COUNCIL MEMBERS; TO PROVIDE FOR A VICE-MAYOR TO BE RECOMMENDED BY THE MAYOR AND AFFIRMED BY THE MEMBERS OF COUNCIL AND TO ACT AS MAYOR IN THE MAYOR’S ABSENCE OR INABILITY TO SERVE AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
An ordinance amending §2.01, 3.01, 3.03, 3.04, 3.11 and 3.12 of the Charter to provide for the election of a member of Council as mayor for a term of four years in 2021, the appointment of a mayor after the election in 2019 for two years by affirmative vote of a majority of the members of Council, reduction of the number of members of Council elected in 2021 from four to three plus the mayor who is a member of Council, providing that the mayor shall preside at all meetings of Council, the recommendation of a vice-mayor by the mayor whose appointment for a term of two years shall be approved by a majority of the members of Council, compensation for the mayor, vice-mayor and members of Council, and the vice-mayor shall serve as acting mayor while the mayor is absent or until a successor is elected if the office is vacant.
