The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office Feb. 15-21, 2019. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 310 calls during this seven-day period.
ANIMAL PROBLEM
Feb. 15
3:37 p.m., Burrows Road, Montville. Bus driver reported goats in the road. Spoke to owner.
ASSAULT
Feb. 15
8:47 p.m., Mayfield Road, Munson. Ex-employees jumping off lifts and throwing beer cans. They are in park corner of back parking lot. Employee at Alpine kicked out three subjects. Employee was assaulted and a different employee’s car was damaged.
FRAUD
Feb. 20
10:07 a.m., Merritt Road, Munson. Complainant was solicited through a dating app to send $12,400 to the International Monetary Fund in order to release a package containing gold and cash. Complainant did not initiate a money transfer or share account information. Advice given.
SUSPICIOUS
Feb. 15
8:02 p.m., Ravenna Road, Munson. Someone at the caller’s soup. She states it is WomenSafe’s policy to have police make a report. Complainant advised her advocate dropped off soup earlier and after she took a nap it was gone. Staff was made aware of the situation. Complainant only wished to have the incident documented.
Feb. 16
10:38 a.m., Ensign Road, Claridon. Complainant gave personal/driver’s license information to unknown subject on the internet. Wants on file in case anything happens.
Feb. 19
8:03 a.m., Mayfield Road, Claridon. Ex-employee from the BP keeps coming over and dumping out cigarette containers looking to smoke used cigarettes.
10:39 a.m., Main Market Road, Troy. Something suspicious left in the toilet after someone from the street used the bathroom. Unknown passerby came in to use the restroom. Two possible matches located in toilet, but unknown if they are matches. Collected the items.
THEFT
Feb. 20
12:21 p.m., Lake Shore Drive, Newbury. Complainant reported a boat motor stolen from the front porch of her brother’s house. Report taken.
