Shirley Alice Haueter
Shirley Alice Haueter (nee Davis) was born on Oct. 18, 1927, and left her time on earth on March 28, 2019.
Shirley was an elementary school teacher and reading specialist in Newbury Township for many years. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from Kent State University.
Shirley was active in the 4-H and volunteered at the Chardon Public Library, the polls on election day and The Great Geauga County Fair.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Ray.
She is survived by her children, Jeanette Darbe (Alan), Elisabeth Haueter, Rachel Shannon (Mike), Hannah Haueter and John Haueter; grandchildren, Kimberley Komar (Kevin) and Kristy Smith; and great-grandchildren, Gavin, Caleb, Teagan and Avery Komar, and Lucas Smith.
