The Lake Effect Concert Band will present a free concert – “Let’s Dance” – at Park Auditorium on the Chardon Square.

The Lake Effect Concert Band is a 65 member community-based adult ensemble that performs under the sponsorship of the Snowbelt Musical Arts Association (SMAA) and direction of conductor and educator Greg Hillis.

The family-friendly event is free and open to all. Donations are always appreciated.

Youth Theatre Presents “Into the Woods Jr.”

May 17, 7:30 p.m.

May 18 and 19, 2 p.m.

Fairmount Center for the Arts will present its Youth Theatre Program performances of “Into the Woods Jr.” at Mayfield Village Civic Center, 6622 Wilson Mills Road, Mayfield Village.

Thirty-two area youth, ranging from ages 7-14 years, will take the stage in the production. The program is directed by Patti Susman and choreographed by Merlynne Hancock with musical direction by Joan Bendix.

Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for seniors ages 62 years and older and children ages 3-12 years. Tickets may be purchased in advance by calling 440-338-3171 or will be available 30 minutes prior to each performance at the civic center.

GANG Features Mixed-Media Artist

May 21, 6:30-8 p.m.

The Geauga Arts Network Group (GANG) welcomes mixed-media artist Cindy Ceroky to its monthly educational program at the Heinen’s Café, 402 Center St. in Chardon.

Ceroky forms her creations using mixed media, particularly vintage papers, fabrics and ephemeral media. She has exhibited in numerous local art shows and galleries, as well as the Great Geauga County Fair.

The educational event is free and open to the public. No reservations are necessary.
