The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office May 10-16, 2019. In total, the sheriff’s office handled 381 calls during this seven-day period.
ANIMAL PROBLEM
May 12
8:57 a.m., Grove Road, Parkman. Two young bulls running down the road. UTL/GOA.
CITIZEN DISPUTE
May 10
5:50 p.m., Olmar Drive, Chardon. Caller believes a male residing down the road put a bag of dog dung on his front yard in retaliation for grass clippings on the road. Advice given.
DOMESTIC DISPUTE
May 10
7:57 p.m., Meadowlark Lane, Newbury. Husband through a picture frame at caller. Some alcohol, no weapons. Husband is following her wherever she goes and is videotaping caller in her face. Husband and wife going through a divorce. No violence or threats of violence. Both parties agreed to stay away from each other for the night.
SUSPICIOUS
May 13
11:33 p.m., Old State Road, Middlefield. Caller is stating a nice blonde-haired nurse came to his house with her supervisor and attempted to “lure him into a mental institution.” Complainant advised that a week ago while at Walmart “uniformed men” attempted to sell him for prostitution. Advice given.
May 15
12:25 a.m., Chardon Windsor Road, Hambden. Caller says he was forced out of a vehicle and does not know where he is. Female pushed him out of the vehicle. He was hanging out with the female and she left him. No alcohol or weapons. Caller is inside the building borrowing the phone. Male was given a ride to Shell station at Ravenna Road and SR 84.
1:17 a.m., S. Hambden Street, Chardon. Out with a male stumbling in front of fire station. Male given a ride to East King Street.
4:09 p.m., Auburn Road, Chardon. A large paper bag on the side of the road that someone wrote all over and then stapled it shut. Caller thought it was suspicious and wanted to make sure that no animals were inside. Deputy advised. Checked OK. Bag of asphalt with info for road workers fixing roadway.
THEFT
May 13
3:06 p.m., Pinehurst Drive, Munson. Would like to speak to a deputy regarding a person who was fixing his computer and has not yet returned. Caller thinks it was stolen. Advice given.
THREATENING
May 11
3:03 p.m., Ravenna Road, Munson. Caller’s teenage son was shooting on their property and the neighbor came over to threaten him. Swearing and saying he will “make his life a living hell of you keep shooting.” Deputy spoke with complainant who advised a neighbor pulled into his driveway and yelled at his son for shooting a firearm. No threats were made. Advice given. Clear.
